SPANISH ROMANCE – Alternative Version – Full Tutorial with TAB

Spanish Romance performed by Robert Lunn

Spanish Romance is a popular piece for classical/fingerstyle guitarists, and for good reason. It’s a beautiful melody. I have no idea who wrote this piece. Doing a little research online it seems that there are several people who have claimed to have written the song but it seems as if there is nothing definitive.

For this version, I change the bass line a bit in the E minor section. For the final repeat of the E minor section I had a note in two spots to add a little spice. 95% of this arrangement has not different compared to the way that most people play it.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow (repost with Performance) – Full Tutorial with TAB – Fingerstyle Guitar

Somewhere Over the Rainbow performed by Robert Lunn

In this guitar lesson I teach you the classic song, Somewhere Over the Rainbow, from the movie, Wizard of Oz. Not gonna lie, when I was a child, I was in love with Judy Garland.

This song, composed by Harold Arlen, contains a beautiful melody and is a good example of the AABA song form. Overall, I tried to make this arrangement as easy as possible so that the performer can really focus on making the melody sing.

ADELITA – Francisco Tarrega – Full (New) Tutorial with TAB – Fingerstyle Guitar

Adelita performed by Robert Lunn

Adelita was composed by the great Spanish composer/guitarist, Francisco Tarrega. Tarrega is my favorite guitar composer and this is one of my favorite pieces by him. I have been playing this for a loooooooong time and I never get tired of it.

Adelita is composed in the style of a Mazurka, which is a type of Polish dance in triple time. Generally the accents fall on the second or third beat. This makes sense for me because I have always felt that Tarrega was inspired by the Polish composer, Chopin.

A Stream Without End – Full Tutorial With TAB – Fingerstyle Guitar

A Stream Without End performed by Robert Lunn

A Stream Without End is an etude I composed for the guitar that focuses on a right hand arpeggio (p, i, a) that repeats throughout the entire song. The piece was inspired by memories from childhood when we lived right next to a stream. I remember sitting there watching things float down the stream (like leaves). From my vantage point I couldn’t see the beginning of the stream nor the end of the stream.

WATER MUSIC – GF Handel – Full Tutorial with TAB – Fingerstyle Guitar

Water Music Performed by Robert Lunn

Handel’s Water Music consists of three orchestral suites he composed that was first played in 1717. For this arrangement I am using a theme from one of them. Handel was a contemporary of Bach. In fact, they were born in the same year. Unlike Bach, Handel, during his lifetime, was a very well-known and financially successful composer.

RECUERDOS DE LA ALHAMBRA – Tarrega – Easy Arr. (no tremolo) – Tutorial with TAB – Fingerstyle Guitar

Recuerdos de la Alhambra (easy arrangement) performed by Robert Lunn

Recuerdos de la Alhambra by Francisco Tarrega is a beautiful piece of music that has been performed by the top guitarists from the last 100 years. The original uses the technique, tremolo, which can be a difficult technique to play. In this arrangement I have stripped away the tremolo in an effort to try and make it as easy as possible to play. I also tried to limit large stretches as well as limited my use of barre chords. Still not super easy to play but certainly easier than the original.
